Job summary

MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX is hiring a Public Safety Officer to help maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff while supporting care, research, and education. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of relevant work experience, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

IAHS-S certification is preferred. The role requires rotating shifts and a 40-hour work week on site at the West Houston campus.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, directions, and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff
• Patrol campus by vehicle and on foot to monitor for suspicious activity and safety hazards
• Enforce institutional and parking regulations; issue permits and citations as needed
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority in compliance with the Clery Act
• Respond to emergencies and maintain calm, professional judgment under pressure
• Support institutional policies and ensure a safe environment for all individuals on campus
