Job summary

MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Public Safety Officer to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff on the West Houston campus. The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of relevant experience, and a Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities include patrolling the campus, providing directions, enforcing regulations, and serving as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act. Benefits include employer-paid coverage and extensive leave options.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Required: 1 year relevant work experience.
• Preferred: IAHSS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, directions, and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Patrol campus by vehicle and on foot to monitor for suspicious activity and safety hazards.
• Enforce institutional and parking regulations; issue permits and citations as needed.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority in compliance with the Clery Act.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain calm, professional judgement under pressure.
• Support institutional policies and ensure a safe environment for all individuals on campus.
