Job summary

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Public Safety Officer to help create a safe and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff. The role focuses on security, information, and rapid response to incidents on the MD Anderson campus in the Texas Medical Center.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of relevant work experience, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of relevant work experience required.
• Texas driver’s license with history of driving required; waiver possible with 1 year history.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, directions, and assistance to patients, visitors and staff.
• Patrol campus by vehicle and on foot to monitor safety and security.
• Enforce institutional and parking regulations; issue permits and citations as needed.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority in compliance with the Clery Act.
• Respond to emergencies with calm, professional judgment under pressure.
• Support institutional policies to ensure a safe campus environment.
