Job summary

MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Public Safety Officer who will help keep patients, families, and staff safe while supporting care, research, and education. A high school diploma, 1 year of relevant experience, and a Texas driver’s license are required; IAHSS certification is preferred.

Duties include information provision, campus patrol, enforcing regulations, and responding to emergencies with professional judgment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1 year of relevant work experience required.
• Texas Driver's License required; a waiver possible with limited driving history.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, directions, and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Patrol campus by vehicle and on foot to monitor for safety hazards.
• Enforce campus regulations; issue permits and citations as needed.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority in compliance with the Clery Act.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain calm, professional judgment under pressure.
• Support institutional policies to ensure a safe environment on campus.
