University of Washington is seeking a Patient Account Representative 2 to perform billing submissions and extensive insurance follow-up. This role requires meticulous attention to payer requirements, eligibility checks, and accurate data handling across UB-04, CMS-1500, and ADA forms.

The position supports UW Medicine’s financial operations, interacting with medical staff and third-party payers to ensure timely reimbursement and resolution of accounts. Day shift, 40 hours weekly.

Competenze

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environment.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications where allowed by law.

Mansioni

• Edit, prepare, and submit UB-04, CMS-1500, ADA forms and electronic claims per regulations.
• Analyze and take action on unresolved insurance accounts and denied or unpaid claims.
• Follow up on insurance claims by researching status, eligibility, and payment discrepancies.
• Review denials and determine corrective actions including rebilling, adjustments, or appeals.
• Update patient demographics and payer information to support accurate submissions.
• Communicate with UW Medicine staff and payers to resolve billing and reimbursement details.
• Maintain spreadsheets and reports using Excel and other tools for workload and analytics.
