Job summary

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Billing Specialist to oversee the operation of billing processes across multiple systems and databases.

You will ensure timely, accurate entry and validation of charges for Surgical Services, including Operating Room and SDCC, on a daily basis. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years of related experience, and post-secondary training in computer applications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related work experience required.
• Post-secondary training in computer applications required.
• Minimum 3 years in a healthcare environment with computer applications required; OR or Materials Management experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and administer billing processes across multiple systems and databases.
• Ensure timely and accurate entry and validation of charges.
• Enter data from source material for processing of charges in Surgical Services areas (Operating Room and SDCC) daily.
