Job summary

EPAM Systems in Houston, TX is seeking a hands-on Back-End Engineer to lead development of our next-generation operational platform. You will build an AI-enabled system that ties vendor data into a real-time health monitor, with incident management and long-term planning in mind.

You will own feature delivery, design robust backend services on Azure using Python and C#, and collaborate with a small team to ensure secure, scalable solutions and thorough testing.

Qualifications

• Proven production experience in back-end development using Python and .NET (C#)
• Hands-on expertise with FastAPI or comparable modern Python web frameworks
• Strong architectural skills for reliable, scalable services
• High standards for code quality, testing, and operational readiness
• Experience hosting production apps on Azure (hosting, identity, monitoring, secure config)
• Understanding policy-driven cloud governance and compliance in enterprise environments
• Production-grade experience with NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB preferred)
• Experience integrating frontend apps with enterprise identity and authentication standards

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of feature delivery with requirements gathering and robust designs
• Design and develop back-end services on Microsoft Azure
• Collaborate with engineers on decisions, code reviews, and delivery
• Iterate rapidly with end users, turning feedback into secure, scalable enhancements
• Contribute to architectural decisions and maintain documentation in Azure DevOps
