University of Washington Medical Center is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to lead accounting close, reconciliations, and financial reporting for UWMC and Shared Services. The role requires supervision of accounting staff, process improvement, and collaboration with finance and operations leadership.

The position is hybrid, requiring 2 onsite days at the UW Tower in Seattle, WA, and offers a broad scope across internal audits and inter-affiliate activities within UW Medicine.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 5+ years of accounting experience including financial close, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis (GAAP/GASB).
• Experience supervising accounting staff and providing technical guidance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to present to leadership.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and respond to ad hoc requests.

Responsabilidades

• Lead monthly and year-end close activities with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and analyses for UWMC and Shared Services.
• Oversee high-volume accounting activities including patient transactions, inventory, cash, expense reports, and inter-affiliate allocations.
• Lead real estate common area expense reconciliations and space occupancy reporting for UW.
• Process intercompany payroll and other settlements per schedule.
• Develop and enhance accounting procedures, controls, and processes for accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
• Prepare and review UWMC financial reporting materials for management, leadership, audits.
• Coordinate annual physical inventory: counts, observations, test counts, reconciliation.
• Supervise accounting staff with coaching, performance reviews, and prioritization.
• Collaborate with Financial Reporting Team on standards implementation and consolidation.
• Represent UW Medicine Accounting on committees and task forces.
