Job summary

The University of Washington Medical Center, part of UW Medicine, is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to join the Accounting Team in Seattle. This hybrid position requires 2 days onsite at the UW Tower in the University District.

You will lead monthly and year-end close, oversee high-volume accounting activities, prepare financial analyses, and supervise accounting staff while collaborating with finance and operations across UW Medicine.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in accounting/finance/business or related field.
5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience including close, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
Proven ability to supervise staff and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly and year-end close activities with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and analyses.
Oversee high-volume accounting activities including patient transactions, inventory, cash, and inter-affiliate allocations.
Coordinate intercompany payroll and settlements; update real estate expense allocations.
Develop and enhance accounting procedures, controls, and automation; prepare reports for leadership and audits.
