Job summary

BHDP is seeking an Architect III for healthcare projects in Columbus, OH. The role emphasizes strong technical leadership, coordination of multi-discipline teams, and translating design intent into buildable deliverables.

The architect will mentor staff, manage risk, and drive quality through QA/QC, documentation, and proactive collaboration with consultants and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture degree (NAAB accredited program preferred).
• 9+ years in the design and/or architecture industry.
• Licensed Architect.
• Advanced Revit knowledge – independently deliver defined drawing packages/projects and teach others on best practice.
• Advanced knowledge of production-ready visualization capabilities (SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion).
• Demonstrated capability to delegate, coach, and raise team performance.
• Demonstrated initiative; sees challenges as opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Leads effort to deliver results across multiple projects with consistent quality and milestone readiness.
• Drives issues to verified closure through QA/QC and cross-discipline coordination.
• Breaks projects into clear work assignments and ensures timely, high-quality delivery.
• Coaches and delegates through actionable feedback and brief check-ins to improve quality and throughput.
• Identifies complex coordination, constructability, and code/life-safety issues early and develops options with clear trade-offs.
• Escalates high-risk items and documents key decisions for reusable improvements.
• Maintains rolling look-ahead across projects and keeps teams milestone-ready.
