Summary
Job Summary

Oversees the daily activities of analysts including the analysis of financial information, health outcomes, health care cost and utilization studies. Performs statistical analysis using SAS and other analytical tools. Assists the Director in developing a long-term analytics strategy to support organizational needs. Responsible for managing projects, tracking reports, and overseeing staff development.

Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop analytical plans and lead in financial analysis, regulatory reporting, health outcomes, and utilization studies.
  • Implement analytic methods and reporting formats.
  • Maintain and document data tables and data marts.
  • Analyze administrative data for quality and reliability.
  • Use SAS and other software to retrieve and analyze data.
  • Create reports and visualizations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver data products.
  • Plan and oversee data system projects.
  • Manage workload and improve departmental processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Management and Leadership
  • Hire, supervise, coach, and mentor staff.
  • Support strategic planning and organizational goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders and support training initiatives.
  • Evaluate performance and ensure team effectiveness.
  • Coordinate human resource functions with HR.
Organizational Responsibilities
  • Align work with organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Meet strategic business goals.
  • Follow organizational policies and compliance requirements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Seven years of experience in health data analysis using SAS or similar tools.
  • Experience leading complex analysis projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in supervisory roles or completion of CareOregon’s Aspiring Leaders Program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS and managed care concepts.
  • Leadership, data manipulation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in diverse environments.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor/Office environment, no patient-facing duties.
  • May involve travel using personal transportation.
  • Physical and ergonomic hazards possible.
