Job summary

The Cigna Group’s Evernorth Health Services invites aspiring AI/ML engineers to join a 12-week internship designed to build scalable healthcare solutions. You will work with experienced engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to experience the full AI lifecycle, from data pipelines to production-ready APIs, across health datasets and enterprise use cases.

Location includes Austin, TX with a hybrid work model three days per week in-office.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of hands-on ML, data engineering, analytics, or software eng. experience.
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL, with data prep or technical solutions experience.
• Experience developing ML or data engineering solutions in projects or internships.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable ML frameworks to accelerate model development and deployment.
• Design scalable data pipelines and feature engineering with Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks.
• Develop production-ready APIs and cloud-native services for enterprise use.
• Contribute to MLOps, containerized deployment, monitoring, and reliable engineering practices.
• Work with health-care data (claims, member info, transcripts, logs) to identify opportunities.
• Translate complex needs into scalable, responsible AI solutions and communicate outcomes.
