The AI Innovation Development Program (AIIDP) Summer Internship provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to explore how AI-powered solutions are developed, tested, and applied in real healthcare and business environments. This internship is designed for students who are curious about emerging technologies, enjoy solving problems, and want hands‑on experience turning ideas into meaningful business solutions.
As an intern within the AI Innovation Office, you will gain exposure to a fast-moving, collaborative environment where teams design, test, and evaluate AI-powered solutions. You will work alongside experienced professionals while learning how ideas move from concept to prototype and ultimately create value for customers, clients, and patients.
Throughout the internship, you will:
Assist with building and testing simple AI-powered or data-driven solutions.
Locations: This position is based in Raleigh, NC. The role requires a hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days per week working onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day of the employee's choice), and the option to work the remaining days remotely. Employees must be able to meet the onsite schedule.
You must be available to work a 40‑hour work week beginning May 24th, 2027. Working days are Monday - Friday.
The anticipated hourly pay range for this role is $25.00 to $27.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and location.
One goal of this leadership development program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for leadership roles with The Cigna Group upon program completion. Therefore, this position is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who do not now, or in the future, require visa sponsorship including, but not limited to, H‑1B, CPT/OPT/STEM.
