About The Role
The Healthcare Administrator owns the operational backbone of a distributed healthcare organization: regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMS, state licensing), provider credentialing, payer contracts, and day-to-day facility administration.
The role matters because healthcare operations fail without rigor — missed credentialing deadlines stall revenue, compliance gaps create audit exposure, and inefficient workflows directly affect patient access and care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Own HIPAA compliance programs, including risk assessments, policy documentation, staff training, and breach response protocols
- Manage provider credentialing and payer enrollment cycles in CAQH, ensuring credentials stay current and revenue is not disrupted
- Coordinate payer contract administration — renewals, fee schedule reviews, and dispute resolution with payers
- Oversee budgeting and financial operations, including revenue cycle KPIs, denial management trends, and monthly variance reporting
- Build and maintain operational workflows in EHR and practice management systems (Epic, Athenahealth, or equivalent), including scheduling, billing, and reporting configurations
- Serve as the point of contact for auditors, licensure boards, and regulatory bodies; prepare documentation and drive remediation of findings
- Partner with clinical leadership to improve staffing models, patient access metrics, and service-line operational performance
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years of healthcare administration experience in provider organizations, health systems, or healthcare technology companies
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, CMS regulations, and state licensure requirements; hands-on experience with compliance audits
- Familiarity with revenue cycle management — coding, claims, denials, and payer reimbursement workflows
- Experience with EHR and practice management platforms (Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar)
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field (MHA or MBA preferred)
- Strong analytical skills: comfortable building reports in Excel, SQL, or BI tools and translating data into operational decisions
- Bonus: Certification such as FACHE, CMPE, or CHFP; experience supporting telehealth operations or multi-state licensure management
