The Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS) Administrative Residency provides first-year master’s prepared candidates with hands-on administrative experience and exposure to current challenges in healthcare. Residents gain experience through project-based work, partner with preceptors and leadership to develop leadership characteristics, and participate in cross-functional learning within the system.

Licensure and certification requirements are not applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and enrollment in an accredited Master’s program in Health Care Administration.
• Ability to think independently, organize, plan and make decisions.
• Communicate effectively, including verbal, nonverbal, and listening skills.
• Design and complete data analysis methodology accurately.

Responsabilités

• Engage in project-based work across departments within the health system.
• Partner with preceptors and leadership to understand and develop leadership characteristics.
• Participate in cross-functional learning and networking with current and past Administrative Fellows and leaders.
