CBIZ, Inc. and Optumas invite actuarial/finance‑minded interns to join their healthcare consulting team in Phoenix. You will participate in client conference calls and perform analytical project work as part of a client‑facing team.

You will analyze health care data using Excel and statistical software (SAS, SQL, WPS, Python) and help with data manipulation, presentations, and timely delivery across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Intern must be working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, statistics or related field
• Minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.25
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Interest in healthcare finance and policy
• Ability to fit in and work with a driven, dedicated team
• Exposure to data analytical programming (SAS, SQL, WPS, Python) is beneficial but not required
• Successful completion of actuarial exams is beneficial but not required

Responsibilities

• Performing and reviewing analysis of health care data using Excel
• Analysis, data manipulation and summarization of large health care data sets using statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS, WPS, Access and SPSS)
• Balancing multiple projects and effectively managing time to ensure successful completion by deadlines
• Internal communication and presentation of analyses
