Job summary

Milliman, Inc. in Indianapolis is offering an Actuarial Analyst Intern (Summer 2027) to join our Health and Human Services team. The 11-week program includes 1:1 mentoring, structured professional development, and a final presentation of your project to leadership.

You'll analyze healthcare cost data, assist with pricing, experience analysis, and reporting while learning SQL, SAS, VBA, and Gen AI tools in a collaborative environment. Onsite with housing stipend possible.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related field.
• Willingness to learn SQL, SAS, VBA and other tools.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of Gen AI tools and ethical considerations.
• Cumulative GPA 3.3+ and SOA exam progress preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze healthcare cost and utilization data using claims databases.
• Examine benefit plan and insurance pricing.
• Perform experience analysis and reserving.
• Complete technical research and computer modeling.
• Provide financial and statistical analysis and present results.
• Support senior staff on strategic projects and client requests.
• Prepare and present written reports and oral presentations.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools to improve productivity.
