Optumasis seeking motivated actuarial / financial students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare consulting. Interns are provided with a broad range of experiences and opportunity to gain experience learning new skills through active participation as part of a client team. Responsibilities include attending client conference calls, performing various analytical project work, and completing on the job training.
Performing and reviewing analysis of health care data using Excel
Analysis, data manipulation and summarization of large health care data sets using statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS, WPS, Access and SPSS)
Balancing multiple projects and effectively managing time to ensure successful completion by deadlines
Internal communication and presentation of analyses
Minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.25
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Interest in healthcare finance and policy
Ability to fit in and work with a driven, dedicated team
Exposure to data analytical programming (SAS, SQL, WPS, Python) is beneficial but not required
Successful completion of actuarial exams is beneficial but not required
