Job summary

Chapters Health System is seeking an Accounts Payable Representative to ensure accurate payments to vendors and providers. You will process invoices, research issues, obtain approvals, and maintain vendor relationships in a healthcare setting.

The role requires 1 year of accounting experience with AP/GL and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and time management are essential as you manage overhead and patient payables in a Florida-based environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year accounting experience to include General Ledger, AP, A/R or Financial Reporting
• Preferred two (2) years experience in medical claims processing, medical biller or coder
• Computer experience to include Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Windows Explorer
• Team player and self-starter who is accurate and detail-oriented
• Professional attitude
• Highly organized, with the ability to effectively manage many tasks simultaneously
• Able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality
• Proficient in time management skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of duties and complete projects within assigned time frames

Responsibilities

• Overhead Payables: Process invoices/check requests using automated AP system
• Overhead Payables: Enters vouchers into AP system and reviews for accuracy
• Overhead Payables: For employee expense reports, ensure receipts are attached and policy is followed
• Overhead Payables: Assigns correct affiliate/GL account coding to each voucher
• Overhead Payables: Assigns approver and submits for approval
• Overhead Payables: Adds any voucher requiring special handling to the log
• Overhead Payables: For new vendors, obtain W-9 and ACH information for setup
• Overhead Payables: Communicates with vendors and teams regarding invoice questions
• Overhead Payables: Updates required logs
• Overhead Payables: Reviews system queues to ensure timely payments
• Overhead Payables: Assists with annual 1099 process
• Patient Payables: Analyzes claim submissions to determine acceptance or denial for payment
• Patient Payables: Resolves pended and secondary review claims
• Patient Payables: Addresses provider inquiries regarding claim adjudication
• Patient Payables: Researches overpayment/underpayment and reports to supervisor
• Patient Payables: Maintains knowledge of third-party billing and reimbursement rules
• Patient Payables: Maintains vendor records including TIN, NPI, addresses, and contact details
