Job summary

Bradford Health Services in Birmingham, AL seeks an Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and oversee the general ledger, bank reconciliations, and balance sheets.

You will manage the accounting and accounts payable teams, implement systems improvements to enhance data accuracy, coordinate month-end close, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and full cycle accounting processes.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, balance sheet preparation, fixed asset accounting, and month-end processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.
• Perform monthly entries and reconciliations for company fixed assets and leases.
• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems to improve efficiency and data integrity.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements by supporting regular audits and process reviews.
• Continually assess internal controls and provide suggestions for identified improvements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff to foster professional development and high performance.
