Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Program Director to develop, deliver, and administer a designated program at Copley-Price Family YMCA in San Diego. You will recruit and supervise staff, manage volunteers, and ensure growth and safety across departments.

The role requires 2+ years in program/department work, supervisory experience, and budget oversight. CPR/First Aid and fingerprinting compliance are essential. YMCA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years’ work experience in program/department area.
• 2+ years’ experience with program development and program operations.
• 1+ year's supervisory experience for a team of two or larger.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (Adult and Child/Infant) within 30 days of hire from a recognized org.
• Fingerprinting required prior to reporting to work and arrest notifications included.
• YMCA experience preferred.
• Fitness Industry experience with CPT/Group Exercise certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the assigned department/programs to drive growth and safety.
• Oversee marketing, registration, communication, and operations of on-site/off-site facilities.
• Conduct site visits for observation and evaluation.
• Develop and control the department budget; meet year-end outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, ACA, and health department requirements.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; support development.
• Foster motivation, recognition, and teamwork within the staff.
• Represent the Branch in community groups and support campaigns.
