Optimatum Solutions seeks a Health & Welfare Consultant for our New York City office. You will apply deep HR benefits expertise to analyze and optimize employer-sponsored health, welfare and retirement programs while collaborating with the Client Services Team.

This role offers autonomy and end-to-end visibility in a growing organization, with opportunities to shape client outcomes and drive strategic value across benefits and HR systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• 7+ years of experience in HR/employee benefits plans and vendors – required.
• Advisory/consulting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong data analysis skills.
• Strong client service orientation with timely communications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and integrity; CEBS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify cost optimization, compliance and process improvements.

As a Health & Welfare Consultant, you’ll bring deep expertise in HR and employer-sponsored Health & Welfare and Retirement benefit programs, plans, vendors, operations, and systems. The Opportunity

The Health & Welfare Consultant supports the Client Services team in analytics, streamlining processes and ensuring compliance across clients’ HR/Benefit plans, processes, programs, systems, applications and functions. The ideal candidate will utilize Microsoft Office tools, strong research abilities, and effective communication skills to contribute to project delivery through data analysis, process evaluation, interpretation and reporting of findings, as well as provide general project management support.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze HR and Employee Benefits related data, including employer-sponsored health & welfare and retirement plans, self-insured plan costs, stop-loss coverage, and plan documents
• Identify optimization cost mitigation, compliance and process enhancement opportunities
• Present findings and actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders
• Provide project management support to ensure timely and effective execution of client deliverables

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required
• 7+ years relevant professional experience with demonstrated familiarity in HR/Employee Benefits Plans, Programs and Vendors (knowledge of both Employer Sponsored Healthcare and Retirement programs) – Required
• Experience gained in an advisory/consulting environment or prior external consulting experience - Required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Advanced data analysis capabilities
• Strong client service orientation and ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner
• Proven ability to complete project deliverables, manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills to ensure timely work product delivery
• Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
• Demonstrated integrity in all functions of work
• Pursuit of CEBS designation desired

The expected annual salary ranges from $100,000 - $145,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, training, experience, education, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package (for eligible employees), successful candidates may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
