Job summary

Trinity Health Corp. is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Med Surg Unit at Trinity Health Oakland Campus.

You will coordinate the flow of unit and patient information, greet staff and visitors, manage charts, and transcribe physician orders, ensuring patient confidentiality. This full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED and a recognized Unit Secretary/Health Unit Coordinator certification or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Certification or equivalent experience as Unit Secretary/Health Unit Coordinator.
• Previous Health Unit Coordinator experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet staff, physicians and visitors with courteous service.
• Facilitate inquiries from family to patient while protecting confidentiality.
• Maintain patient roster/census and available beds; assist in room assignment.
• Prepare and maintain patient charts for procedures and surgeries.
• Transcribe physician orders via computer or manually when needed.
• Communicate all stat orders to the nurse and enter hospital charges.
