Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Certification by an accredited Unit Secretary/Health Unit Coordinator training course or equivalent working experience.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required within 3 months of start of position.
• Successful completion (greater than 85%) of Health Unit Coordinator pre-employment test.

Responsibilities

• Greets all staff, physicians and visitors with warm, friendly customer service interactions.
• Maintains patient roster/census and available beds; assists in patient room assignments.
• Transcribes physician orders; enters hospital charge data; schedules procedures and treatments.
