JOB SUMMARY
The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a combined role that functions under the supervision of physicians or registered nurses to provide coordination of admissions, transfers, discharges, and provides patient/family care plans based off of a collection of patient information. The individual is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate processing of information, communicating and collaborating with healthcare team members to facilitate patient care and to provide patient care for significantly achievement of patient and family outcomes. This individual will facilitate the acquisition of materials and assist with clerical activities to support the units operations and completes routine and delegated direct patient care activities communicated by the registered nurse.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) diploma.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Experience working as a Health Unit Coordinator and a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Must have or has had a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
