Valleywise Health in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to act as the unit's communication hub, linking patients, families, physicians, nurses, and support departments to keep everyone informed and coordinated. This role combines customer service, administrative accuracy, and clinical coordination to support patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The hourly pay range is $16.87 to $24.88, with opportunities to contribute to a patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of HUC/Unit Secretary program OR 1 year healthcare experience.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary communication link between patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments.
• Welcoming and assisting patients, visitors, and guests with professionalism and compassion.
• Coordinate patient flow and support daily unit operations.
• Track consults, STAT orders, patient movement, and other essential clinical activities.
• Manage phone communications and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Maintain records, data entry, filing systems, and unit documentation.
• Order supplies and help keep the unit organized and operational.
• Support special projects and administrative initiatives.

Experience:

• One (1) year of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Specialized Training:

• Ability to successfully complete Valleywise Health computer training programs.

Certification:

• National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (NAHUC) certification preferred.
