Job summary

Methodist Hospital seeks a Health Unit Coordinator for the 4E General Medicine team to coordinate patient care, provide information, and support staff and families. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service and efficient resource coordination in a busy hospital setting.

The position requires a health unit coordination background or related training, with strong medical terminology knowledge and keyboarding skills. Shift schedule is 0.6 FTE with straight days and alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; HUC program preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and customer service is preferred.
• Strong keyboarding skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Position Summary:

The Health Unit Coordinator serves as a resource for unit nursing staff, allied health departments, medical staff, patients, and visitors by assisting with patient care coordination, providing information, giving direction, securing assistance and resources, and troubleshooting. This is done in a manner, which reflects the vision, mission, and philosophy of nursing and Park Nicollet Health Services. The Health Unit Coordinator is expected to provide exceptional customer service.

Work Schedule:

.0.6 FTE Straight Days with every other weekend.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School diploma preferred. Completion of a Health Unit Coordinator program preferred. Previous customer service experience, medical terminology and keyboarding skills is preferred.
