Job summary

PrairieCare in Minnesota (Brooklyn Park) is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to support nursing staff, patients, and visitors. You will coordinate care, provide information, and secure assistance while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma; a Health Unit Coordinator/Medical Secretary Certificate or two-year degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of work experience in Health Unit Coordinator or Medical Secretary role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and telephone skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer and clerical skills.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with health care team members.
  • Strong customer service skills.

What You’ll Do

The Health Unit Coordinator serves as a resource for unit nursing staff, patients, and visitors by assisting with care coordination, providing information, and securing assistance.
