GENERAL SUMMARY

Health Unit Assistant

Part Time Days - 7am - 7:30pm

Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital

Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area. Responsibilities include:

1. Greeting patients, visitors, and new admissions.
2. Answering general inquiries and scheduling patients for appointments.
3. Answering, screening, and routing telephone calls.
4. Performing general clerical duties such as filing, email correspondence, and mail distribution.
5. Creating reports and documents as assigned.
6. Helping patients/residents with basic technology and social media.
7. Communicating with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members about patient care.
8. Performing unit safety checks.
9. Assisting with patient needs, including meals, trays, activities, and transportation.
10. Stocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness of the unit and patient rooms.
11. Maintaining staff schedules and timekeeping as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable job-specific experience.

- Note: Professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

- Preferred experience with administrative skills in a hospital setting.
