Job summary

Tripler Army Medical Center on the Island of Oahu, HI, seeks a Nutrition Care Specialist to support the Production and Service Branch in hospital food service and patient nutrition.

Job requires a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics and at least one year of experience reviewing patient menus and adjusting menus per provider orders, to meet therapeutic and basic nutritional needs.

About the Position:

This position is with the Nutrition Care Division, Production and Service Branch located at Tripler Army Medical Center, on the Island of Oahu, HI.

Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience which includes

1. 1) working in the food service industry in a hospital or clinic setting;
2. 2) reviewing selective menus prepared for patients for conformance with diet orders;
3. 3) making menu adjustments directed by provider for therapeutic and basic nutritional needs.

Education

Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as Nursing Assistant, Nutrition, or Dietetics or related field of study.

Combination of Education and Experience

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
