Job summary

Norwescap is hiring for a part-time Early Head Start role in Flemington, NJ. You will perform health screenings and support nutrition and dental health for at-risk children, while maintaining strong partnerships with families.

The position offers cross-training and opportunities for tuition reimbursement and professional development. The successful candidate will be compassionate, organized, flexible, and a good communicator who works well in a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, pursuing health credential or CNA within two years of hire.
• Associate's degree, LPN or RN (preferred).
• Experience with young children and in health/nutrition fields required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete health, dental, mental health, and nutrition screenings within the required timeline.
• Maintain positive relationships with parents and support immunizations and follow-up procedures for children.
• Maintain first aid and pediatric CPR certification and provide first aid when necessary.
• Promote health and safety practices within classrooms and the center.

Job Overview

We are a fast-paced and high-demand non-profit program that depends on everybody in every position to help our centers function with ease. You will gain diverse experience working with an at-risk population. Cross-training is available and expected for all positions.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Complete health, dental, mental health, and nutrition screenings within the required timeline.
• Maintain positive relationships with parents and support parents as they complete the required. immunizations and other medical and dental follow-up procedures for their children.
• Maintain first aid and pediatric CPR certification and provide first aid when necessary.
• Promote health and safety practices within the program by implementing and monitoring health and hygiene practices in classrooms and the center

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, working towards a health credential, or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), to be completed within two years of hire (required)
• Associate's degree, LPN, RPN (preferred)
• Experience working with young children (required)
• Experience in the health and nutrition field
• 2+ years experience with children and families(preferred)
• 2+ years experience with health and nutrition (preferred)
