Job summary

Norwescap’s Hopatcong Head Start program seeks a Food Specialist for a 30-hour weekly, full-year role. The position focuses on meal preparation, supply purchasing, and ensuring CACFP compliance, with responsibilities including equipment maintenance, paperwork, and menu planning.

The ideal candidate has a GED, a valid driver’s license, and relevant food preparation experience, with SERV Safe certification pursued with support.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Food Protection Manager Certificate or working towards certificate is preferred.
  • Experience in commercial food preparation is required.
  • Ability to obtain SERV Safe certification with company support.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible meal preparation and for purchasing necessary supplies and food for meal preparation in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and CACFP.
  • Operate, sanitize, and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Complete paperwork as required according to Head Start and CACFP guidelines
  • Assist in menu planning

Hopatcong Head Start | Food Specialist

30 hours per week | Full Year Position | $17.54 - 18.26 / Hour

Job Overview

Responsibilities and Duties
