Description

Lifeline of Ohio coordinates and promotes organ, eye, and tissue donation across Ohio. We are seeking a Donation Support Services Coordinator - Night Shift to join our team. A DSS Coordinator organizes and assists with tasks to ensure donation efforts run smoothly across multiple stakeholders. They facilitate communication and ensure compliance with all relevant agencies to maximize organ, eye, and tissue donation. They work closely with hospital staff, funeral homes, coroners, tissue technicians, and organ recovery staff to coordinate the donation process. They also ensure families are educated and aware of donation opportunities.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefits-eligible position. The schedule includes a mix of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts, with alternating weekends and some holidays. Only candidates from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, or South Carolina will be considered.

Responsibilities:
  1. Referral Initiation:
  • Obtain and enter patient medical and social information provided by partners.
  • Ensure relevant referral/case information is communicated to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Communicate with external partners and provide follow-up as needed.
  • Identify initial suitability for tissue donors.
  • Provide clinical information to team leads or on-call administrators.
  • Assess donor registry status or contact organ procurement organizations.
  • Evaluation:
    • Document and evaluate donor suitability criteria.
    • Apply relevant policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Build professional rapport with tissue processor staff.
  • Authorization:
    • Coordinate and obtain authorization from partners and families.
    • Work with authorizing agents and provide necessary information.
    • Support families with follow-up.
    • Compile screening questionnaires and communicate acceptance.
    • Document information and ensure standards are met.
  • Charge:
    • Coordinate referral assignments and manage workload.
    • Ensure timely completion of tasks and shift handovers.
    Requirements:

    Education and Experience:

    • Certification in healthcare or relevant education preferred.
    • 2+ years experience in a call center or related field.
    • Ability to work night shifts.
    Preferred Skills:
    • Enthusiasm for the organization’s mission.
    • Ability to work remotely with multiple communication channels.
    • Understanding of complex policies and attention to detail.
    • Friendly, professional communication skills.
    • Collaborative attitude.
