A Standardized Patient (SP) is an individual trained to portray a patient in a realistic and consistent manner for the purpose of educating healthcare students. SPs are critical for providing realistic clinical scenarios that allow students to practice and refine their clinical, communication, and diagnostic skills.

The AACC Standardized Patient project is supported by the U.S. Department of Labor Perkins program with a grant of $406,880, which is 100% of the total cost of Perkins activities collegewide. This is a grant‑funded position through June 30, 2025.
