Job summary

VCU Libraries Health Sciences Library in Richmond invites applications for the Health Sciences Librarian (HSL) Intern position with the Research and Education Department (RED). The internship is open to current or recent graduates in ALA-accredited library programs and offers up to 25 hours per week, in person or virtually.

The RED Intern will gain practical experience by working with health sciences librarians and library users, contributing to outreach, research support, and instruction

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent MLS/MLIS program.
• Basic knowledge of academic library resources and databases.
• Strong service orientation and excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outreach and research support projects for RED.
• Interact with faculty, students, and staff to provide library instruction and services.
• Develop learning objects and instructional materials for workshops and learning guides.
