Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University seeks an Assistant Professor to coordinate internship experiences for the Health Services program, partnering with the Assistant Program Director. The role also includes teaching, research, and service responsibilities in a hybrid work setting.

The position requires a PhD or terminal degree and experience guiding undergraduate internship programs, with opportunities for collaborative research and scholarly activity across multiple modalities.

Qualifications

• PhD or terminal degree in a health-related or educational field.
• Minimum of two years managing or working in an internship program with undergraduate students in health-related positions.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in asynchronous online/hybrid/in-person environments.
• Demonstrated ability to foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate high-quality internship experiences with the Assistant Program Director and partners across Virginia.
• Develop and support the mentorship program and our career development course.
• Oversee internship placements and site relations for HSV major and minors across multiple semesters.
• Ensure internship site policies and documentation align with VCU Academic Affairs' vision.
