Job summary

East Carolina University is seeking multiple Health Sciences Central Reservations Event Assistants to provide clerical support, greet guests, and assist in event setup at the Health Sciences Student Center and Brody School of Medicine.

As student employees, you will develop competencies in communication, accountability, professionalism, and teamwork while working on campus and reporting to professional staff within Student Involvement & Leadership.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as an East Carolina University student.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Complete all necessary paperwork, forms, tasks, and maintain logs as required.
• Attend scheduled shifts and follow staff manual protocols.
• Acknowledge and greet students, staff, faculty, and University guests; connect them to resources as appropriate.
• Answer telephone calls and relay messages to the appropriate contact; operate common office equipment.
• Read operation reports and complete setups and breakdowns for events; set up chairs, tables, and other items.
• Provide for the safety of patrons during events and enforce facility policies.
• Attend training sessions and support staff as needed; maintain positive communication with colleagues.
• Represent East Carolina University positively to students, staff, faculty, and guests.
