Job summary

Design Hire is seeking an experienced EHS Safety Specialist to lead site safety programs in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on conducting safety audits, hazard assessments, and OSHA compliance while overseeing contractor safety and training initiatives.

You will maintain records, support emergencies, and promote safe work practices through field coaching. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of construction safety, OSHA 510 certification, and a degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of construction safety, field safety, or EHS experience.
  • OSHA 510 certification required.
  • Previous experience supporting semiconductor construction, equipment installation, water/wastewater, industrial construction, or similar environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction regulations, hazard recognition, contractor safety management, and jobsite compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety documentation systems.
  • Strong communication, leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and hazard assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Monitor contractor activities, identify unsafe behaviors or conditions, and exercise stop-work authority when necessary to protect personnel and the jobsite.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, safety observations, incident investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance records.
  • Support emergency preparedness by assisting with responses to medical, fire, chemical, or other site-related incidents and ensuring emergency equipment remains operational.
  • Deliver safety orientations, verify contractor training requirements, and reinforce safe work practices through regular field engagement and coaching.
