Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of related experience in semiconductor/high-tech settings.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction, manufacturing, semiconductor, chemical, or high-tech environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA codes, and safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and contractor management.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
  • Ability to work in varied environments including confined spaces and elevated platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS programs transitioning from construction to manufacturing.
  • Conduct risk assessments and process hazard analyses for construction and operations.
  • Support ISO 14001 and 45001 management system implementation.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and CAPA implementations.
  • Partner with site leadership to set safety objectives and metrics for improvement.
  • Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, and response planning.
  • Participate in MOC reviews for new equipment, chemicals, and processes.
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA, and regulatory compliance; maintain records and exposure data.
  • Analyze EHS performance trends and advise site leadership.
  • Provide EHS oversight for construction, installation, and commissioning.
  • Conduct field audits and contractor safety orientations and evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain industrial hygiene programs to control exposures.

Position Summary:

Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking a highly motivated Senior EHS Engineer to support the development, implementation, and continuous improviement of EHS programs for one of the most advanced semiconductor packaging and test manufacturing faciliteis ih the United States. This role provides technical leadership and hands-on support for both construction and manufacturing operations . A qualified candidate has experince in occupational safety, contractor mangaement, industrial hygiene, and regulator compliance. The role partners closely with facilties, construction, manufacturing, and contractors to identify and mitigate risks, ensure requlatory compliance, and foster world-class safety culture throughout all phases of site development, commissionion, and production.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement EHS programs supporting transition from construction to operational manufacturing.
  • Conduct risk assessments and process hazard assessments for construction and operational activities.
  • Support implementation of ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
  • Partner with site leadership to establish safety objectives, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, and response planning activities.
  • Participate in management of change (MOC) reviews associated with new equipment, chemicals, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain regulatory records, reports, exposure assessment data, and compliance documentation.
  • Analyze EHS performance trends and provide recommendations to site leadership.
  • Provide EHS leadership and oversight for construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct field audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support contractor onboarding, safety orientation, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive industrial hygiene programs to identify and evaluate, and control employee exposure to chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
    • Or 7+ years of experience of experience in semiconductor, chemical, or high-tech industrial environments can be used in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction, manufacturing, semiconductor, chemical, or high-tech industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA codes, and relevant safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and contractor management activities.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
  • Ability to work in varied environments, including confined spaces and elevated platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Semiconductor, microelectronics, advanced manufacturing, or cleanroom experience.
  • Experience supporting greenfield construction, startup, and commissioning projects.
  • Knowledge of toxic gas systems, hazardous chemicals, ventilation systems, and cleanroom environments.
  • Experience with occupational health programs and exposure monitoring strategies.
  • Experience supporting ISO 14001 and 45001 certification and audits.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • OSHA 30-Hour General/Construction Industry Certification.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001 implementation and audits.
  • Background in semiconductor facility safety or cleanroom operations.
Location:

This position will be based at the Peoria, AZ site, working from temporary offices during the construction phase and transitioning to the facility upon the start of factory operations.
