Job summary

Langan seeks a Health and Safety Specialist to strengthen its H&S team, enforcing and enhancing the corporate safety program. The role includes policy review, training program development, incident management, and audits across projects and sites.

The successful candidate will manage respirator fit testing, drug/alcohol programs, and safety compliance training, while maintaining records and promoting a strong safety culture company-wide.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of health and safety experience in construction or consulting.
• Experience training employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations.
• Knowledge of federal/state safety regulations and how to apply them.
• Know Cal/OSHA regulations and requirements.
• Familiarity with Hazardous Communications, Confined Space, Air Monitoring, JSA and HSE Plans.
• Professional certification in safety (CIH, CSP, CHMM) is a plus.
• Strong MS Office skills and data/training record keeping.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review safety regulations and determine applicability and compliance needs.
• Prepare site-specific health and safety documents for work starts.
• Manage respirator fit testing program and schedule across offices.
• Identify training to support evolving client environments.
• Oversee drug and alcohol testing program and maintain records.
• Develop and implement health and safety training (Hazardous Communications, Confined Space, JHA, HAZWOPER).
• Support policy development and maintenance of corporate H&S procedures.
• Investigate work-related incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture and monitor plan effectiveness.
