Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Phoenix, AZ offers a 10–12 week internship for students and recent graduates in North America. You will work under a mentor in Health & Safety and Industrial Hygiene, gaining hands-on experience in identifying hazards and mitigating risks.

The program runs May through August as full-time, paid employment. Interns will engage with company leaders, participate in safety trainings, site visits to mines and facilities, and develop professional networks while supporting daily

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time at a four-year university or recent graduate in North America.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong data analysis, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with a mentor in Health & Safety to identify hazards and mitigation steps.
• Assist in investigating incidents and developing corrective actions.
• Attend site visits to mine, processing, or manufacturing areas.
• Support safety programs and daily safety activities.
