Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is offering a 10–12 week Summer Internship in Health & Safety across locations in Arizona. Interns gain hands-on experience in identifying hazards, assessing risks, and supporting safety initiatives under a mentor.

You must be a full-time student or recent graduate in North America, with strong Microsoft Office skills and a collaborative mindset. The internship runs May–August and pays hourly in a multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time at a four-year university pursuing a degree in Health & Safety or related field.
• Recent graduate within 12 months with a degree in Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Work with a mentor in Health & Safety to address real-world problems.
• Identify health and safety hazards and help develop corrective actions.
• Assist in risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Communicate safety topics and participate in daily safety discussions.
• Support onboarding of contract employees and safety planning for projects.
