Job summary

Valeo North America is seeking a motivated student for a 12-month, 32-40 hour per week role in environmental safety. You will learn and contribute to safety programs, assist in maintaining regulatory compliance, and support health, safety, and environmental procedures on site.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to review risk controls, update safety data and work instructions, and help implement improvements while preparing for a potential career in EHS leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in environmental or occupational safety.
• April/May 2026 graduation in one of these programs.
• Completed courses in equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA.

Responsibilities

• Identify, establish and implement Valeo Group safety requirements.
• Check safety equipment compliance with requirements.
• Carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory surveys.
• Assist in establishing and overseeing Health, Safety, Security and Environment procedures.
• Conduct inspections/audits, make recommendations and implement actions.
• Assist in addressing non-compliance from audits and inspections.
• Stay updated on legislation; update SDS, ergonomics and PPE assessments.
• Review and update safety and environmental work instructions.

What You Will Do

• You will ensure that all requirements of Valeo Group are identified, established and implemented
• You will check that safety and security equipment are in compliance with requirements
• You will carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory survey
• You will help establish the site “Health, Safety, Security and Environment” operation procedures and oversee their application
• You will carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify corresponding actions as well as the responsibility for implementing it
• You will assist in implementing and monitoring action relating to the handling of any non‑compliance revealed by the inspections, internal audits and external audits, taking the necessary investments into account
• You will be aware of developments in the legislation. You will update and complete Safety Data sheets, plus ergonomic and PPE assessments
• You will review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions

What You Should Have

• You should be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or occupational safety related field OR be an April/May 2026 graduate of one of those programs
• You preferably have completed classes in equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA
