Job summary

Valeo is seeking a student or recent graduate for a 1-year, 32-40 hour per week position in the United States (Ohio). The role focuses on health, safety, and environmental responsibilities, ensuring compliance, and supporting the site’s safety program.

You will perform risk analyses, audits, and updates to SDS and PPE assessments under supervision. Ideal candidates are pursuing an environmental or occupational safety degree, with coursework in lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in environmental or occupational safety or an April/May 2026 graduate.
• Classes in equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA favored.

Responsibilities

• Identify, establish and implement Valeo Group requirements.
• Ensure safety equipment compliance with requirements.
• Carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory surveys.
• Help establish site Health, Safety, Security and Environment procedures and oversee their application.
• Carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and assign responsibilities.
• Assist in implementing actions from inspections and audits with investments in mind.
• Stay updated on developments in legislation.
• Update and complete Safety Data Sheets and PPE assessments.
• Review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions.

This position is a 1 year (12 month), 32-40 hours per week position

What You Will Do

• You will ensure that all requirements of Valeo Group are identified, established and implemented
• You will check that safety and security equipment are in compliance with requirements
• You will carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory survey
• You will help establish the site “Health, Safety, Security and Environment” operation procedures and oversee their application
• You will carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify corresponding actions as well as the responsibility for implementing it
• You will assist in implementing and monitoring action relating to the handling of any non-compliance revealed by the inspections, internal audits and external audits, taking the necessary investments into account
• Be aware of developments in the legislation.
• You will update and complete Safety Data sheets, plus ergonomic and PPE assessments
• You will review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions

What You Should Have

• You should be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or occupational safety related field OR be an April/May 2026 graduate of one of those programs
• You preferably have completed classes in equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA
