Job summary

First Resources Corp. in Iowa is seeking a full-time Health and Safety Assistant to support residential services and ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant environment for staff and individuals.

You will assist with training new staff at site locations and help secure medications/refills, aiding Site Supervisors. The job requires travel between Burlington and Fairfield, a flexible schedule, and willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in human services or related field.
• At least two years of HCBS experience with DIA requirements for adult day services.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use computer-based programs.
• Prior medical/nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and pass meds where required.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communication with Area Coordinator and Supervisors about client care and site conditions.
• Provide clerical and training support to the residential department.
• Advocate for individual rights and health, safety, and welfare needs.
• Complete documentation within 24 hours: medications, logs, incident reports, checklists; conduct site inspections.
• Attend medical, psychiatric, and dental appointments with individuals and provide transportation.
• Facilitate ordering of medications/refills and stock medical supplies.
