Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience processing Social Security Disability claims for the DDS.
• Knowledge of SSA disability program policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Experience with legacy systems (Iron Data's AS-400) and SSA queries.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates and delivers statewide and local area office training to all staff.
• Provides management-consulting services to management staff regarding disability policy, procedures, operational practices and training issues.
• Keeps management staff apprised of changes in regulations or policy and provides options for implementing them.
• Acts as primary liaison on assigned policy and body system issues; provides case-related consultation and serves as final arbiter in policy disputes.
• Reviews SSA policy or procedural issues and provides feedback on potential impact to the disability program and the division.
• Reviews and edits policy documents to ensure compliance with current regulations and business processes.
