Job summary

Pima Community College Foundation Inc. seeks a Laboratory Specialist - Health Professions to support health programs and simulation labs. The role plans, prepares, and maintains equipment, supplies, and instructional media for classroom demonstrations, labs, and patient simulations.

The position also ensures lab safety, regulatory compliance, and inventory management. The work schedule is flexible, may include evenings/weekends and local travel.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of health laboratory techniques, simulation equipment, and instructional methods.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards, safe lab practices, and regulatory compliance principles.
• Knowledge of basic record-keeping, inventory control, vendor communication, and equipment maintenance/quality control.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for diverse environments.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and relevant software applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, set up, and take down equipment, supplies, and instructional media for health professions labs and patient simulations.
• Operate and troubleshoot high-tech lab equipment and simulators used in health professions courses.
• Oversee lab safety procedures and maintain SDS documentation for compliance.
• Track inventory, order supplies, liaise with vendors, and recommend equipment needs.
• Facilitate lab access during operating hours and provide staff/faculty training on lab operations.
• Maintain lab records and essential documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
