Job summary

The Arizona Department of Health Services seeks a Legislative Affairs & Policy Intern to support legislative monitoring, policy development, and implementation activities. You will track bills, assist with research, and coordinate internal and external follow-up to ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a relevant program or experience in public policy or government.
• Ability to conduct legislative, legal, regulatory, or policy research.
• Strong writing and analytic capabilities for summaries and briefings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor legislative activity and track legislation affecting division programs.
• Prepare bill summaries, updates, briefing materials, and talking points.
• Coordinate implementation timelines and status reports for enacted laws.
• Support SB 1162 (2026) research and coordination across divisions.
• Communicate deadlines and requirements to stakeholders and staff.
