Job summary

HDR is seeking a Health Planner II in Seattle, Washington, to provide planning, design, and coordination support on healthcare projects. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance community well-being through effective space design.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, at least 3 years of experience in the A/E industry, and strong computer skills, particularly with AutoCAD and REVIT. Compensation is commensurate with experience and location, with comprehensive benefits offered.

Job description

Health Planner II

In this role at HDR, you will provide planning, design, and coordination support on healthcare projects, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver spaces that enhance community well‑being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects.
  • Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings.
  • Prepare drawings, specification documents, presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives.
  • Assist in the coordination of all disciplines related to building design and health planning.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhino, MS Office, Blue Beam).
  • Architectural registration.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the healthcare architecture field, with 3 years exclusively as a health planner.
  • Advanced credentials desirable (e.g., ACHA, LEED, EDAC).
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Preference given to local candidates.

  • Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles for production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings, and models.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with experience, education, and location. Example ranges: California: $99,946–$168,740; Illinois: $99,946–$142,780; Massachusetts: $109,032–$155,760; New York: $113,575–$162,250; Washington State: $113,575–$162,250.
