Job summary

Blue Shield of California seeks a Principal Health Plan Strategist to advance our integrated health plan strategy-to-execution process and drive strategic initiatives across the organization. This role provides decision support through data-driven insights, executive stakeholder collaboration, and rigorous strategy design and implementation.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or GED and 4 extra years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree; graduate degree strongly preferred.
• Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in health care/health plan or health care provider settings.
• Experience leading enterprise programs, strategic planning, or cross-functional initiatives in matrixed organizations.
• Strong strategic thinking to translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Core management consulting skills: client management, workshop facilitation, problem solving, data analysis, process design, change management.
• Clear and persuasive communication, written and verbal.
• Influence and stakeholder alignment across leaders and peers.
• Excellent project management skills; Agile experience preferred; Design thinking certification preferred; Agile certification preferred.
